The team behind PKLYN, a one-of-a-kind indoor pickleball facility set to open in Brooklyn this summer, took possession of their building in Gowanus on January 15, 2024, per the terms of their lease.

After ensuring that all systems were working properly, the team’s first order of business was to tape up some perfect court lines and play an inaugural pickleball game in their new home. PKLYN has indicated that construction will kick off imminently with the work of resurfacing and re-outfitting the building.

“The photos from this visit are just a portion of the building, accounting for about 25 percent of the PKLYN facility,” shared David Friedman, founder of PKLYN. “It’s a glimpse at a part of PKLYN, while the other side of the building, where there will be three more courts, a dink court, an events space, a mezzanine lounge, a store for brand and technical merch, and a bar are all yet to be seen.”

PKLYN is located at 80 4th St. in Brooklyn, New York. The pickleball club will occupy an 18K sq. ft. space in the heart of Gowanus, Brooklyn when it opens this summer, with 5 indoor courts plus a dink court, and other amenities. Featuring 23-ft. high ceilings, exposed brick, and over 20 skylights, the aesthetics are already on track to impress.
